Compliance monitoring campaign extended: BAC apprenticeships and traineeships

Compliance monitoring campaign extendedThe Commonwealth Government's Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) and Completing Apprenticeship Commencements (CAC) wage subsidy schemes have been extended until 30 June 2022. This means the VRQA will extend its regulatory campaign focusing on apprenticeships and traineeships that have commenced or continue under these schemes.

VRQA authorised officers regularly conduct site visits and telephone compliance checks to make sure employers are meeting their obligations to their apprentices and trainees.

We have taken action to remove or restrict employers' approval to hire apprentices and trainees during this financial year. Further investigations are currently being finalised.

In some instances, employers may be required to pay back some or all of the money they received from the State or Commonwealth governments.
