New Child Safe Standards: Ministerial Order for schools and school boarding premises

The Minister for Education has issued Ministerial Order No. 1359 – Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the risk of child abuse in schools and school boarding premises (Ministerial Order No. 1359). It outlines minimum requirements schools and school boarding premises must meet to comply with the new Child Safe Standards.

Schools and school boarding premises must comply with Ministerial Order No. 1359 by 1 July 2022.

The work schools and school boarding premises currently do to keep children safe will help them comply with Ministerial Order No. 1359.

Before 1 July, the VRQA will release guidance material to help providers understand and meet the new requirements of Ministerial Order No. 1359.
