We are pleased to welcome Mr Peter Loney to the VRQA Board. Peter commenced his Board term on Wednesday 24 November 2021 .
His experience and insight across education, audit and risk, public sector integrity and governance will help VRQA generate quality education and training outcomes for Victorians.
Peter has a background in primary and vocational education, as a previous Victorian primary school teacher and a Board member of Barwon South Western Region Technical and the Further Education Board. He was also a member of Victorian Parliament from 1992 to 2006.
He has held several senior integrity and assurance roles including Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees Parliament of Victoria, Chair of Privileges Committee Parliament of Victoria and Executive Director of the Public Sector Governance and Accountability Research Centre. Peter was also Chair of Victorian Public Accounts and Estimates Committee and oversaw the financial and performance audit of the Victorian Auditor-General's Office between 2000 and 2003.
