As an employer of apprentices and trainees, you may be contacted by Victorian Apprenticeship Field Services (VAFS) to arrange a virtual workplace visit.
To prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), most physical workplace visits are suspended.
VAFS is conducting virtual visits instead, which include video or phone calls with:
- the employer’s representative
- the relevant apprentice(s) or trainee(s)
- each relevant apprentice or trainee’s supervisor.
VAFS authorised officers conduct workplace visits on our behalf to make sure employers, apprentices and trainees are meeting their training contract obligations.
An authorised officer might contact you to schedule a routine visit, or a visit as part of a regulatory campaign focusing on your industry.
