More than 400 home educators provided feedback in our 2019 client and stakeholder research.
We‘re pleased to report that 82 per cent of respondents were satisfied with us and our services. That’s an increase from 75 per cent in the previous year.
However, there is room for improvement. Here’s what you told us, and how we will respond.
More than 90 per cent of respondents who registered a child last year found the application process and form easy to complete. However, at least a quarter found preparing a learning plan difficult.
To make this step easier, we are reviewing and simplifying how we explain the learning plan requirements and your options.
We’re also adding some new learning plan templates this year, so stay tuned!
Review participants were generally positive about the experience—88 per cent said compiling evidence for the review was easy, and 82 per cent said accessing information and support for the review was easy.
For some respondents, the time between completing a review and receiving an outcome was uncomfortably long. We‘ll focus efforts on reducing the time we take to complete a review and notify parents. We now include the average response time in our registration activity reports, which we publish quarterly on our website.
Service and support
Most respondents had positive interactions with our staff—92 per cent said the VRQA is good or excellent at providing staff who are courteous or helpful, and 93 per cent found working with a VRQA reviewer easy.
