Sharing with you a timely reminder of RTO reporting obligations, as well as updated VET guidelines.

Reporting on quality indicators

Registered training organisations (RTOs) are required to collect and report data on quality indicators.

You must submit your RTO's quality indicator data report in full to by close of business 30 June 2018. Quality Indicator data is required for the previous calendar year, namely 1 January to 31 December 2017.

To submit your RTO's report in full, email it to:

The data helps RTOs continuously improve their services, and allows the national and state registering bodies to conduct informed risk assessments. Failure to submit your report will result in your RTO not complying with its statutory registration requirements and potentially constitute a breach of registration requirements.

Updated VRQA Guidelines for VET Providers now available

We have amended our Guidelines for VET Providers reflect changes to the Training and Education Training Package.

In April 2016, the Training and Education Training Package was updated. The core units added to the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification were:

  • TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools and
  • TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skills.

To reflect these changes and maintain consistency at national level, we amended our Guidelines for VET Providers.
