Australia's largest community-based environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day is fast approaching. If you're thinking about participating, it's worth considering how you could link the day to your child's learning.
Participation can be linked to learning areas through:
-
English by making an advertising poster or writing a report of the day
-
maths by planning a timeline or graphing the rubbish collected
-
the arts through photography or by creating art with items found.
If you are linking to learning areas, don't forget to collect evidence such as photos and samples of learning outcomes. This will be helpful should you be selected for review.
Schools and Youth Clean Up Day is on 2 March and the Community Clean Up Day on 4 March.
You can join an event, organise your own event, or participate as a family.
