Apprenticeships and traineeships are competency based. They are complete when:
- your apprentice or trainee has achieved all the competencies in their training plan
- you have confirmed with the registered training organisation (RTO) that your apprentice or trainee is competent in the workplace
- the RTO has entered the information received from you into the apprenticeship database.
If you employ a trainee, the RTO will send you confirmation when the traineeship is complete.
If you employ an apprentice, we will send you written confirmation when the apprenticeship is complete.
It is possible to complete an apprenticeship early, if you and the RTO both decide that your apprentice is demonstrating all the necessary competencies. Please discuss with your RTO directly.
